- Prepare to clean shed
- Requirements for the work to be undertaken are interpreted and confirmed with supervisor.
- Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) hazards are identified; risks assessed and suitable controls are implemented.
- Suitable personal protective equipment is selected, used and maintained.
- The environmental implications of cleaning the shed are identified, likely outcomes assessed and, if necessary, responsible action is taken.
- Equipment is raised, dismantled or removed from the shed for cleaning according to supervisor's instructions.
- Feed and watering equipment is raised or removed from shed and cleaned to remove contamination.
- Electrical switchboards and other equipment are covered or sealed to prevent entry of water if appropriate.
- Clean shed and surrounds
- OHS hazards relating to the cleaning process are identified; risks assessed and suitable controls are implemented.
- Machinery is available, serviced and prepared for operation according to established operating practice.
- Where used, litter is removed and disposed of according to establishment hygiene practice.
- According to production circumstances, manure is removed and disposed of according to environmental codes, enterprise quality assurance requirements, and OHS guidelines.
- According to production circumstances and environment, dust and cobwebs are removed from all surfaces.
- Filters are serviced and drinker lines and tanks are flushed.
- Where appropriate, silos are emptied and cleaned as required by hygiene and production programs.
- Cleaning agents are prepared and used according to manufacturer's instructions and in line with established safe working procedures.
- Shed is aired to ensure evacuation of cleaning agent's toxicants prior to re-entry of staff and re-installation of equipment.
- Chemical agents are safely handled and applied in compliance with OHS standards, and in line with property quality assurance program.
- Electrical equipment is dry-cleaned.
- Run-off from cleaning activity is managed according to the organisations effluent and waste management procedures.
- Checks are made to ensure that all cleaning and hygiene processes are completed to standard.
- Complete hygiene and administration task
- Equipment is cleaned in accordance with manufacturer's specifications, and organisational procedures and regulations.
- Attachments and other ancillary equipment are cleaned and stored to minimise damage and to maximise hygiene according to manufacturers' specifications, and organisational procedures and regulations.
- All containers, leftover fluids, waste and debris from the cleaning operations are disposed of safely and appropriately.
- All required records and documentation are completed accurately and promptly in accordance with organisational requirements.
